I’m a typical suburban mom with three kids and I was very nervous to do a photo shoot, but really wanted to give my husband a special gift of his own “personalized” sexy/nude photos. For someone like me that had never done anything like this, Dale was so incredible to work with. He has the perfect balance of listening to what I wanted and guiding me through the photo shoot to have it come out perfectly. It was definitely out of my comfort zone for about the first couple minutes of the photo shoot, but Dale was so great at making it all feel so relaxed and working to get the best pictures out of me. I could have never imagined how incredible it all turned out. It is truly “better than boudoir” because Dale works wonderfully to make the pictures what YOU want, no matter how tame/sexy or wild/crazy, all while feeling very comfortable and professional. Dale is so easy to work with and creates such a great experience and product.

I recently had my first photo shoot with Better Than Boudoir studio, and I could not be more pleased with the experience or the results. After turning 50 one year ago, I decided that I wanted to give my boyfriend some artistic nude photos. Research for this project was pretty depressing-the photographers either offered a cutesy Glamour or a bridal wedding version of what I was looking for.
Finally, I called Dale. It was the best decision I could have made. His voice on the phone made me comfortable from the outset. When we met at his studio, he showed me the variety of work he has done. Dale is not limited to one style of photography, his range of experience will include any type of work you have in mind. We agreed on a date to begin, and from there it was easy.
At the beginning of the shoot, I had absolutely no idea of what to expect. I was hesitant and self-conscious; completely unable to relax. But this lasted about five minutes, and we had over 200 images to choose from in the next two hours. Dale was very encouraging, while at the same time able to find the best in me to photograph. By the end of the session, we had more than enough wonderful images and it was time to edit.
I didn't know what to expect in terms of editing, but when Dale sent the first batch of photos to me I literally had to sit down. I could not believe this person smiling out of the photo was me! She was stunning. All of the images were this way.
The most valuable part of my experience with Dale and his studio is how I feel about myself now. When I see myself in the mirror I don't immediately turn away anymore. I see that beautiful and confident woman looking back at me.
Oh, and my boyfriend will like the photos, too.

If you are going to work with Dale, you have to check two things at the door: your inhibition and any worries you have. Working with him was so easy and laid-back and completely comfortable. He leaves your comfort level up to you. With his expertise, he basically made magic happen with the camera. He's innovative and fun, and a regular guy you'd go have a beer with afterwards. The final product, however, is what knocks this experience out of the park. You'll walk away with incredible photos.

I first saw Dale's work when I was searching online for an eclectic photographer, I needed a variety of pictures for the website I was looking to create for my business. Bam! Unique Exposure stuck out the most to me after searching for a very long time on the internet & through friends for the perfect photographer for what I needed. All of his pictures spoke a million words to me & I decided to immediately make an appointment with him for a full day shoot. He kept in great contact with emails responding to all my questions and emailed to confirm with me the day before.. I always need confirmations sometimes people don't do them! :(
Now, with taking nude photos it's hard.. very hard to become comfortable with a photographer. I am already a very shy person and I honestly have never found a professional I am 100% comfortable being around. When it came down to my appointment I was incredibly nervous up until Dale answered the door, it felt like I was seeing a good friend of mine I hadn't seen in years. I was already late for my appointment, and as soon as I pulled up I realized I forgot my shoes!!! "No, worries go get them this is YOUR day." Perfect, I was immediately at ease with this guy.
When I got back to his studio he brought me straight into his office offered me a drink, and started to show me his work and what he was capable of really doing. Following that he gave me a complete tour of the studio, very clean and organized which is extremely important to me. I had no idea just how many of the pictures on the site were actually done in his space.. You would never guess!! It is truly amazing, his creativity and attention to detail is impeccable I mean he pretty much built everything himself just goes to show how passionate he is with his work.
Now for the shoot, like I said he pays very close attention to detail. Knows all of the perfect angles some I had never even seen before & the lighting was adjusted perfectly. He kept me energized through the entire time making me wish there were more hours in the day to shoot! I can be a very insecure person, Dale gives you great confidence & is professional at the same time, perfect!
The only downfall fall of the shoot was when it had to end, but then I got to look at the pictures!!! By FAR exceeded my expectations! He edited one of the photos within seconds to perfection to give me an idea of what he could do with them. But, the poses he had me doing and how comfortable I looked in the pictures they barely needed any editing. We did over 1,000 photos and there's only a couple of bad ones because I blinked haha. I'm still working on cutting down to my final photos for the website I now hired Dale to do for me, and I am still not even close to finding a few favorites.. That's a very GOOD problem to have! Once again he is exceeding my expectations with my website. This guy is smart, actually knows what he is doing and best of all he's passionate about his work. All of my friends are now looking to book with him after seeing both my pictures & website, even though I don't want to share his amazing talents I don't think it's right to keep this guy a secret he is too good. After researching several photographers for "these kind" of photos, nobody's work seemed to compare to Dale's. From the first moment I heard Dale's voice on the phone, I knew he was going to be easy to work with and I knew he would create amazing photos for me. And of course that is exactly what he did. Dale's approach and demeanor will make you feel more comfortable in front of the camera than you would expect. Dale is truly artist in every way. He sees beauty in women, no matter what size or shape, and he will capture and accentuate that beauty. His work is perfection.

What an incredible experience! I had searched for months before deciding on Dale at Better Than Boudoir, and even then I was nervous! I really wasn't sure what to expect. Are the photos on his website the best of the best? Are they really his photos? Will my own photos turn out half as nice? I finally came to the conclusion that if I ended up with one great photo like what is on his website I would be happy. Well, Dale more than exceeded my expectations! When we sat down to look at the first set of photos I was in shock that it was me in the photos and they just kept getting better as we kept shooting. He knew exactly the right poses and angles that worked for my body and I went home with absolutely amazing photos and a whole new level of confidence!!!! Not only does Dale have an incredible talent but he is extremely professional and made me feel 100% comfortable the entire time. Amazing ! I am so happy I made the decision to be brave enough to take these pictures. I came in a sweater and no make-up and once Melody, the make-up artist, saw me she transformed me into someone completely different. I am by nature an utterly shy person BUT my whole demeanor changed once Dale started the photo shoot. All I did was follow his instructions and BAM he took the best pictures I’ve ever taken in my life! He never once made me feel awkward even though I was so nervous in the beginning. Dale is a truly talented photographer! During the photo shoot he would take the pictures and then he would stop show me how they looked. I was speechless I didn’t know I could look like that. Dale made me feel so incredibly comfortable within the first few minutes of shooting that i actually got into the model mind set which I've never had before, I've always felt awkward taking photos of just myself. After leaving that day i felt like i could do this as a profession. Dale gave me many amazing ideas that turned into amazing photos, I couldn't believe it. During our session we'd stop from time to time to go check

"Dale is such a great talented person and has a great easy going personality also. It was my first time taking any type of professional photos and I was a little nervous going into it. As soon as I meet Dale we hit it off great. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. After the first set of photos were taken we stopped and looked at them and I was in complete shock. I'm what you would call the " ultimate soccer mom", three children and a husband. Better Than Boudoir was one of the best decisions I've made. At 40 I feel like a sexy and sensual woman. The photos were amazing. I could never prior to the shoot been convinced that they would be as flawless and beautiful as they are. I would definitely recommend Better Than Boudoir to all you women out there! The makeup artist was phenomenal and worth the investment.

WOW! I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am that 1) Umbrella Girls referred such a top-quality photographer
and 2) Better Than Boudoir was such a pleasure and talent to work with! And, I have pictures to prove! Throughout my modeling career, I
have been highly selective with the type of photographers I work with and have only done photo shoots by referral. Even then, it's a hit and miss. The reason is twofold: I am a perfectionist and the type of look and image conveyed through pictures can affect a model's reputation and the work she gets. That said, I have been very hesitant about doing a swimsuit shoot for personal reasons. Well, having met Dale through Umbrella Girls' referral, I have finally taken that big step and am THRILLED at the results! The images attached speak for themselves (and most of them have not even been touched up! That's how talented a photographer Dale is) Dale is a true magician and artist. I have worked with several photographers and his work is top on my list! I had the pleasure of collaborating with Better Than Boudoir for a portfolio shoot this week. The professional but friendly attitude made the day go smoothly and quickly. Better Than Boudoir was very conscious of mine and the other model's comfort in the hot weather during our location shoot, and was overall very accommodating and great to work with. Better Than Boudoir gave posing directions well, but also is open to take suggestions for poses from the models, which was refreshing. The end result was great photos that met both Better Than Boudoir and my goals for different commercial, fashion, and editorial looks.
